PPM Tip: Couldn't get file lock v9.3

When checking logs on PPM 9.3X there could appear some warning messages with the following text

STATUS server:Timer-0:(StreamEncoder.java:221):2014/10/31-12:02:00.245 EDT: Oct 31, 2014 12:02:00 PM java.util.prefs.FileSystemPreferences syncWorld

WARNING: Couldn't flush system prefs: java.util.prefs.BackingStoreException: Couldn't get file lock.

This message has been created inadvertently by the system and could be appearing a lot on the logs, in this case those messages can be disregarded since they will have no impact on the system. (This should only be consider for PPM 9.3X, newer versions has to be checked by R&D)

This behavior has been identified only for Linux platform, so far no detection for Windows side.

Re: PPM Tip: Couldn't get file lock v9.3

Hi Gascovi,

It actually has no impact on how PPM works. The issue was fixed in PPM 9.31.

Best Regards,

Iliya
