PPM Upgrade on Linux System from 9.1x to 9.4x

Hello,

There is a requirement to upgrade the PPM 9.14 to 9.41 on Linux system. It would be really great if anyone had done the migration and can share some helping document for reference.

Also wanted to know what was the major challenges you faced during migration?

Thank you.

Re: PPM Upgrade on Linux System from 9.1x to 9.4x

Our upgrade path was a little different (9.21 to 9.32) but you may run into the same issues:

  1. The way licenses are managed changed between the versions.  We had to get new licenses.  There was some confusion by the license group around how licenses were to be distributed among both nodes so when we received the new licenses, each node had 1/2 the total number of licenses.
  2. The upgrades did not initally apply correctly in 9.32 and 9.32.0004 and 2 sql scripts had to be executed prior to each.  These invloved altering the KNTA_ARCHIVES table to increase the size of the VERSION_NUMBER column to 20 chars in 9.32 and 22 chars in 9.32.0004.
