PPM on the internet

Jump to solution

Good day,

We have installed PPM at one of our customer sites and the customer wants PPM to be accessible outside the network. PPM has been configured to be accessible on the internet and you can log in successfully. PPM has been made available by creating a public IP address allowing access from outside through the client firewall.

We have a configuration question. When you click the logout button PPM calls the logon JSP http://hostname:port/itg/web/knta/global/Logon.jsp and this fails because the hostname in this case is the public IP address and not the actual hostname where PPM is installed.

How do we resolve this? Please advise.

Regards,

Patrick.

Hi Patrick,

My understanding is there is a rewrite here occuring and

BASE_URL in each node, are intended to be written exactly the way user access PPM. You can try that (set BASE_URL = way user access PPM) or

com.kintana.core.server.SCHEME_BASED_REDIRECT_FILTER_ENABLED=false

before the first @NODE section. Otherwise the value defaults to true and will rewrite the URL based on the BASE_URL specified.

Hi Patrick,

How is particular node's BASE_URL constructed?  I would assume the logout, is based on the BASE_URL.

Best regards,

Chris

Hi Chris, Thanks for your assistance, adding this line works brilliantly. Regards, Patrick. com.kintana.core.server.SCHEME_BASED_REDIRECT_FILTER_ENABLED=false

PRO TIP : don't touch HTTP cache headers on external web server side.

Logout.jsp didn't include "no-cache" in its header.

So if you alter cache headers, Logout.jsp will not work at all.
