(PPM) support Tip: Cost violation is calculated as rounded-off values.

From Project Exceptions tab, the Cost Violation is calculated as rounded-off values.

For example, if the cost violation is 8,0001%,
percentage 8,0001% is rounded up to 9% in the calculation.

Scenarios:

a.

Actual = 10 829 08$
POR = 10 000 00
Apply in this case :
((Actual Cost - Plan of Record)/Plan of Record) * 100=(( 10 829 08– 1 000 000)/1 000 000)*100= 8,2908%
But  PPM rounds up to 8%.

b.

Actual = 1 080 125 $
POR = 1 000 000$
Apply in this case :
((Actual Cost - Plan of Record)/Plan of Record) * 100= (1 080 125 – 1 000 000)/1 000 000)*100= 8,0125%
But  PPM rounds up to 9%.

Please check "cost_violation.xlsx" attached.

Starting from 9.32.0001 the Cost violation percentage will be calculated as accurate value
while in cost exception the percentage is saved to have 3 decimals.
