PPMC configuration question

We have three servers in our system:  Application, Web, Database.  The PPMC error logs show that the "htdocs/images" directory is not found.  It exists on the App Server, not the Web Server.  Is there a configuration setting that can eliminate this error?

Re: PPMC configuration question

FYI, this is thrown from the FinancialSummary.do (looking for htdocs/images on the Web server instead of the App server).

Re: PPMC configuration question

Hi,

There is not a filtering for the serverLog.txt file, so would not be able to disable this error message.

Are you using https? If so, try switching back to http and test again to see if the error goes away to see if related to the https.

There was a similar issue seen before. See below.

I have got the https working. I had to add a virtual host directive at the end.

DocumentRoot /app/webserver/apache2/htdocs
ServerName ppm.com
SSLEngine On
JkMount /itg/* load_balancer
JkMount /dashboard/* load_balancer

Re: PPMC configuration question

Thanks, I will check.  I know there was some configuration (https) looked at between the Web Server and App Server.  Currently "http" and "https" work via the Web Server, but that background communication might be at fault (if the App Server is attempting https and having issues with the Web Server certificate which -- currently -- is an invalid certificate.  We are in the process of installing the correct certificate, and I'll check that for effect as well.

Re: PPMC configuration question

Oh ok.

Then may be while waiting to update the certificate, can test just with http.

If that works, then the error comes back when putting in the new cert, then can know it's something around the https.

Re: PPMC configuration question

I looked at the Apache logs and PPM serverLog.txt and it appears to occur because the "spacer.gif" reference is to "../../images/spacer.gif" where other GET statements referenced "/itg/images/spacer.gif".  The Financial Summary module is the one throwing it, so I thought I'd chase down where that call is being made.  I haven't looked at the tomcat server.xml/https configuration, but it doesn't appear that the new certificate fixed it.  I'll check again early this week -- it is not something the user would notice -- just shows up in the web server log.

Re: PPMC configuration question

I could not find any issues with this spacer.gif file in the Support Database other than an Enhancement Request:

"QCCR1L30441: Create a JSP tag to create space"

The file is used to create space when needing it in a layout in html. Looks like the file is used frequently in PPM, so I think you are right that it is probably one page in particular that is having the issue.

If cannot reproduce in the STAGE environment, see if can get a username when the error is thrown. Can ask them what pages they were working on at that time. See if can reproduce the issue where it can be displayed in the serverLog.txt file again.
