Staffing profile Statistics section change end period fileds

Good morning

I've a question for staffing profile module in ppm 9.3.

When I change the field end period in statitics section in automatic all the allocation value in positions erases.

Why? It's a normally function by the module?

Is there a documentation where explain this beahvior? 

I'm looking for in HP Project Management User’s Guide but I found nothing about this.

When you change the End period to later date than the existing period, it wont impact but if you change to earlier period, it will erase.

Example:

• Start Period: Jan-2017
• End Period: Sep-2017

• If you change the End Period to Aug-2017, it will erase the forecasts
• If you change the End Period to Dec-2017, no impact.

Thanks to all in the meantime

In the scenario than you have exposed  in my case It not behaved so  but in this mode:

The user changed the end period filed from Feb 2017 to Apr 2017 and the data were removed. It' very strange because the user brought forward the date...

Is There a guide or a manual where this is explained?
