Staffing profile unmet demand issue

Hi All,

We are having an issue with only a particular staffing profile where the unmet demand variance is not accurate.

We are on 9.12

Does anyone ever faced and rectified it?

Thanks

Mohit

Hello Mohit,

Could you please provide more details about this issue? o you see any error message? It is much better if you provide an screenshot.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards.

Re: Staffing profile unmet demand issue

Hi,

Please find attached the screenshot. The highlighted cells does not have correct unmet demand.

And if we are not able to resolve it then what is the impact of this.

Can we still close SP and the project?

Any impact on the project?

Anything that PM should be cautious with?

Thanks

Re: Staffing profile unmet demand issue

Hello Mohit,

I see this is about PPM 9.12 but documentation was added about unmet demand in the guides for the later PPM versions.

For example you can check:

https://softwaresupport.hp.com/group/softwaresupport/search-result/-/facetsearch/document/KM00310115

There search the document about: "Unmet Demand Calculation Sample Scenarios"

Best Regards,

Iliya

Re: Staffing profile unmet demand issue

From the screenshot, I see the unmet demand variances are 1.74 and 0.27, what are the values you expect?

Thanks

Re: Staffing profile unmet demand issue

We are using only one calendar.

The unmet demand in the highlighted parts of screenshot should be:

NULL for the first one (Like the second colum is having)

0.25 for the second one...

And if we are not able to resolve it then what is the impact of this.

Can we still close SP and the project?

Any impact on the project?

Anything that PM should be cautious with?

Thanks

Mohit

Re: Staffing profile unmet demand issue

There are some possible reasons which can cause such variance:

1) You input allocation in weekly view, after saving it you switch to monthly view. Frequently switching between weekly view and monthly view can cause inconsistent data because a week can span two months.

2) holiday or non-working day

Please double check it.
