TM-PM Sync fixes

Jump to solution

Team, I understand this was just announced today but we have a question on the new patch released 9.31.0001.

Under the listed fixes, for Time Management, there is this change.....

QCCR1L56933

PROBLEM -The TM-PM sync does not run

correctly.

SOLUTION - The TM-PM sync runs without errors

because the prevalidation check ignores the

work unit with zero actual effort by

unassigned resource.

Does this mean that the sync will now ignore work units with zero hours actual effort by resources NOT assigned to a task?

We have a question if this also will relate to the  relates to the 'kpmtmsynch.sh' script that is required to run during installations pre-validation.  We ran into an issue this past upgrade where we ran this script and it 'added back resources to project tasks that had 0 hours and were unassigned'.  These resources showed up as contributors to these tasks where they had not been before we ran the script.

We would like to know if the above fix in QCCR1L56933 will also address this script issue.

It is not expected behavior to be added as a contributor on a project task if you are 'unassigned' and have not charged any efffor to the task.  You may have the task in your timesheet but it may be with ZERO hours but should not be reflected back to the project.

Appreciate any help.

Thanks!

Frank

Hi Frank,

Yes, The 'kPMTMSynch.sh' scrip the  is in the PPM  home/bin directory and it should help you with both issues. Let me know the results.

Best Regards,

Carolina.

Hi Frank,

I have found that  The prevalidation script ''CheckPMTMActualsOutOfSync.sql' sould ignore the work unit with 0 actual effort which created by unassigned resource.

Best Regards,

Carolina

Carolina, have just 1 more question.  Making sure that this fix  applies to both the 'daily' TMPM synch that runs as a service and the 'kPMTMSynch.sh' script this is done as part of the pre-validation process?

The 'kPMTMSynch.sh' script is in the home/bin directory so making sure that the fix would apply to that also.

Are these in fact the same script or variation of?

Appreciate all your help.

Frank
