What's the best way to load validation values?

We have several validations which contain values that are maintained in external systems.  We would like to eliminate manual re-entry of these values as they are maintained by other teams.  We would like to automate the load of these values into PPM.  A similar question(post) was posed regarding kenv_env_apps table and some experienced users pointed to the PACKAGE KENV_ENV_APPS_TH and PROCEDURE KENV_ENV_APPS_TH.Process_Row.

We have noticed there exists other similar  procedures.  In particular,  PACKAGE KNTA_LOOKUPS_TH.  Does anyone how to use it?  We have seen the procedure successfully run via PL/SQL.  That is, new values were added to the table KNTA_LOOKUPS and shown from database queries. However, the new values do not show up in the workbench.  Does anyone know what else must be done?  Does a report need to be run?  Is there a refresh process?

In general, if you're updating things from the back end you need to also modify the last_update_date so that the server will know not to just display the currently cached items.

For values maintained in other systems, you might consider creating some validations that use SQL with a database link to the other databases and just query them directly.
