Cannot Install Migrate Server

Windows Server 2012 R2, IIS 7
I get the error "Error running custom action". The errors in the logs
are below. It appears to be a SQL permissions error. I did reset the
SA password because I didn't know the one that it was using and thought
that might be it but I entered it and validated it during the install.
I see a lot of references to Windows 2012 not being supported from a
couple of years ago. I assume it is now. I have already tried the FIPS
and iis settings for allowing 32 bit applications and pretty much every
other article I have been able to find. I am about to try another
product instead if I can't get this to install.

Thanks,

Bill

Re: Cannot Install Migrate Server

Hi,

Which version of Migrate you are installing...i assume Migrate 12.
Please ensure while installing Migrate, OS is in English local and
install Migrate as local administrator. For Migrate 12, you need not
enable IIS in 32 bit mode.

I would recommend to revert IIS roles & features and SQL Server
installation. Disable UAC, reboot machine. Now start with adding IIS
roles/feature as per documentation here http://tinyurl.com/p394f4d

If you still face issue, our support team needs to look into this.

Thanks,
Pradeep

Re: Cannot Install Migrate Server

Another thing worth checking is password complexity. If it's enabled in
SQL Server then you need to ensure the sa password meets the complexity
requirements as the installation will fail otherwise.
