Error when trying to start conversion
Hello,
I am evaluating Migrate 9.2 with a test license. I want to convert a
physical Linux machine (SLES 9) to another hardware.
After some struggling with the various configurations, I finally managed
to get the source machine successfully discovered, and booted the target
with the LinuxTakeControl ISO. Both are displayed in the Migrate
console.
Now, when I select them for "Copy" or "Move", the window opens and tells
me "Nor warnings or errors". But the "Start Assistant" button is grayed
out. When I click on "Advanced", I get an error popup "Null Reference
Exception - Object reference not set to an instance of an object". The
only entry I found in the knowledgebase refers to a failing discovery,
but not to a failed job start.
Am I missing something? Why is the Start button grayed out? Thanks in
advance.
Oliver

Re: Error when trying to start conversion
Oliver,
It's better if you open an SR for this, so the support team can help
properly.
Is the source 32-bit or 64-bit? When booting the target with the ISO,
did you use the corresponding boot option (64-bit if source is 64-bit,
otherwise 32-bit)? Those options will affect how the job is handled.
Can you see any network and disk configuration for the source, if you
look at its properties in Migrate? Ensure there is also drive and
network information for the target. If either machine is missing that
data, that can cause this kind of error to pop up.
