'Checked Out' Project Entities
We are upgrading our ALM and Performance Center servers to 12.60 from 12.57
Before we do ths the documentation states we need to look for any entities under our Projects which are showing as 'checked out' and change these to 'checked in'. (see the instructions at the bottom of this post)
My question is - We have so many projects in use and therefore a lot of them will have entities which need to be checked in. Although the below commands are useful, they do no tell us which entities needs 'checked in'. Therefore we need to manully go though each entity and see if they are checked out or not.
So is there a way that we can know which particular entity within the Project needs checked in?
Prior to upgrading the project, it is recommended to verify that all entities are checked-in in the original project.
In order to check whether there are checked-out entities prior the upgrade the following steps can be performed:
Go to the Site Adminitrator, expand the tables of the relevant project and run these SQL queries:
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM VC_COMPONENT
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM VC_REQ
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM VC_RESOURCES
SELECT COUNT(*) FROM VC_TEST
If any of these queries return COUNT(*) > 0, that means that checked-out entities exist.
In order to check in the entities, go to the project and chec- in all the entities that are checked out or use "undo check out" option.
After that run the above SQL queries again and in case they all return COUNT(*) = 0, these entities are all checked in.
When all entities are verified as checked-in, the upgrade process can continue.
