HP ALM 11 and LDAP integration

Jump to solution

We are currently planning setting up a new ALM 11 instance on a separate cloud environment, with its own internal AD network. The ALM application will be published on the Internet, so access is available from anywhere. However, we would like to setup the instance to authenticate users against our internal AD network (which is an AD network separate from the Cloud AD network).

My questions are:

1) Is it possible to configure the LDAP settings of an ALM instance, without the actual application servers and/or database servers being on the same AD network?

2) Furthermore - what ports / firewall settings should we enable in our virtual environment in order for the LDAP integration to be able to contact the outside world?

Please notice that I am aware that we might have a problem creating the hole INTO or corporate AD network, but right now we are simply investigating the possibilities, so any feedback reg. experiences with ALM and AD integratino would be nice.

Re: HP ALM 11 and LDAP integration

Hi,

As long as the application server is able to connect to the AD, then the LDAP integration will work.

The default ports used to connect to the AD are 389 (normal) and 636 (over SSL).  This may be different on your environment, but it can also be changed via the LDAP settings via the Site Administration.

Thanks,

William
