Re: Prevent all users from creating new defects except for one release

The Administrator Guide provides a large section on workflow customization, including lots of examples. Have you reviewed that?

By "release" do you mean the value you select in the Found In Release field? If so, then what you would want to do is change the workflow to not allow them to select any other value than the acceptable one for that field. Look at the "Field Validation" example in the Administrator Guide.

Re: Prevent all users from creating new defects except for one release

Here is some code to start with

Function Bug_CanPost
  On Error Resume Next

  Bug_CanPost = DefaultRes

  If Bug_Fields.Field("BG_STATUS").Value = "New" Bug_Fields.Field("BG_DETECTED_IN_REL").Value = ???? Then
        MsgBox "You have selected a Release that is no longer valid. Only Release xxxx is now valid - please correct"
        Bug_CanPost = False
  End If

  On Error GoTo 0
End Function

In order for it to work you need to find out the code for the Release that you want to accept

Hope this helps
