I have not developed any integrations between QC and Jira, nor have I actually used the Synchronizer tool. All I can suggest is that you look at the development toolkit for the Synchronizer and see if you can develop your own integration.

QC also has an API. If Jira has an API you could attempt to develop your own programs that use those APIs to synchronize data.

HP does not supply a prebuilt synchronizer to work with Jira. The do supply a software developers toolkit that you can use to build your own synchronizer. Alternately if you use google to search for "quality center jira integration" you'll find a few third party vendors that supply such tools.

We use the Jira bridge for alm from Orasi, which uses the HP sync server :

We are just starting in this area. True integration is in the future.

But for now I did this simple thing:

In QC in Tests, I added a field for the JIRA ID. I then added a button that will open the JIRA Issue whose ID is in the field.

I plan to do the same in JIRA too, adding a URL field that will take the user to the QC Test.

It's not integration, but it's a start.

There is a new tool "HP QC connector for Jira", it supports to synchronize data in two directions and users can customize the field mappings, it is at: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.syncnice.jira.qcadapter

Our JIRA administrators tested JIRA bridge unsuccessfully. It only linked from QC to JIRA and not JIRA to QC. In addition, the developers had to do a lot of tasks to get QC to JIRA to link and determined it was not worth the effort. Is this similar to your experience and did you work around this issue to make it work for you?

Many thanks,

Yes, Go2Group JaM product can map all fields in both systems, and it support different types of the fields, so that is why it needs you understand both systems. It has a good sales and commentary, please see more at: https://marketplace.atlassian.com/plugins/com.go2group.jira.plugin.mercury_kit

Hi,

I think the industry standard would be our/Go2Group's JaM plugin. You can see the product here, as well as a partial list of our JaM customers at the bottom of this page: http://www.go2group.com/en/products/go2group-jam-plugin/, it supports defects, test cases and requirement replication and two directional syncs.

JaM costs $3,000 for unlimited users.

We offer free evaluations and remote installation consulting via our ticket system and also by live web meetings from our engineering staff.

We also have a new integration platform, ConnectALL, which can integrate many to many ALM tools, including JIRA and Quality Center (as well as DOORS, TFS, ClearQuest etc). For more information, see http://www.go2group.com/en/products/go2group-connectall/
