When versioning is turned on, can ALM be configured to auto 'check in' items?

When versioning is turned on, can ALM be configured to auto 'check in' items?

When versioning is turned on, our user are complaining that they're not reminded to 'Check In' requirements/Test plans.  They've asked if it's possbile to implement the following:

1.At logout, a Popup appears with a reminder to 'check in' all items.
2.At completion of a requirement or test plan edit, when click OK, should get a popup to 'check in'.
3.A timed popup appears(ie. every five minutes) reminding the user to 'check in' all items?
4.At a set time(ie 5PM), have an automated email sent by ALM to the user listing all their 'checked out' items.

There is a  notification bar that users can check to show the pending items, for the other requests you made it will need to customize the application.

The available steps:

Select Versions > Pending Check In, or click the Check In button on the right side of the module toolbar. The Pending Check In dialog box opens, displaying a list of all entities checked out by the current user in the current module.

The version control entities status bar is:

There is not auto checked in items; however, this pots shows a way to do a function to check it in:

/t5/Quality-Center-ALM-Practitioners/Getting-VCS-object-for-TDConnection-using-VBScript-in-QC-10-0/td-p/4677502

The popup option must be requested as an Enhancement Request through a support case, it cannot be done within the applicaiton using the available customization modules.

Cordially

Re: When versioning is turned on, can ALM be configured to auto 'check in' items?

Here is an example for a popup at logout for tests, to be used in workflow function CanLogout. You can add the same logic for other entities to a logout popup.

	Set filtr = tdc.TestFactory.Filter
    	filtr.Filter("TS_VC_USER_NAME") = User.UserName
    	testCount = filtr.NewList.Count
    	Set filtr = Nothing
    	If testCount > 0 Then
    	    reply = MsgBox("Check in your tests before logout?", vbYesNo + vbQuestion, "Check in?")
    	    If reply = vbYes Then
    		CanLogout = False
    		Exit Function
	    End If
    	End If
