To Use or Not to Use - LDAP

Jump to solution

What are the benefits of using LDAP Authentication vs. QC Authentication?

I have ALM 11.5

Is there any documentation on why one way is better than the other?

🙂

For QC there is no benefit or performance improvement, for end users could be a benefit because they can use their domain username and password with QC(if they user their company active directory or LDAP server), so there is less information to remember; creating a separate LDAP or active directory server only for QC, does not have any benefit

The biggest benefit is maintenance of passwords and management of the user accounts. If you have few dozen users you can manage without LDAP, simply using QC. If you have few hundred LDAP is the way to go!

I hope this helps.
