Encryption of selected columns in the database

0 Votes

Hi,

Our customers often ask us for the following feature that SBM does not have:

Enable functionality that allows to encrypt of a selected field (column) in the database so that the database administrator is not able to read the information.

Would it be possible to add this feature to SBM, please?

Thank you

Regards

Lucie

By the way, Oracle and SQL Server have a service (Transparent Data Encryption) provided by the DB that can be used with applications like SBM without code enhancement and is the recommended route for customers wishing encryption at the DB level.

Transparent Data Encryption provided by the DB works for the whole DB.
The customer needs to Encryption of selected column only.

Would it be possible to add this feature to SBM, please?

Try googling for "Whole Database and Column Encryption".

Can the data that needs to be encrypted be moved to another table or database? Then you might be able to use foreign keys (Relational fields) to reference that data.
