For Hot News items which advise users of an active incident, it would be helpful to have a 'me too' function which allows users to add a record of their incident using the portal.
Major incident opened
Hot news item created to advise users of the issue
Impacted users can select 'me too' to indicate that they are also impacted by the incident
This creates an incident record with pre-filled information associated to the user and linked to the parent incident record.
Updates to parent record automatically sends notifications to impacted users via the child incident records.
Automatically close child incidents when parent incident is resolved.
