Add input masking for custom fields

For custom fields, it should be an option to create a masking structure. For example, if I need to record an email address on a text field, I should be able to enforce that a proper email address structure is in place. For dollar amounts being recorded, I should be able to enforce that there is a decimal point followed by two digits.

Regex structures could be used to achieve this but I believe there are easier ways for the administrator to define this structure. Ideally this structure would also be enforced in the API layer, not just at the UI level.

Indeed you can always create a rule of type "validate expression" with function matchpattern but default reusable masks for custom fields would be interesting. It would be interesting to be able to create our own reusable masks also to complete what the system could delivered in the future.

This is similar to what I'm after. We want to get a user to provide a project name that will then be used later to automatically create a directory so it can't contain certain special characters.

Being able to validate in this case, or mask in other examples to ensure the correct information is entered would be great (IP addresses, MAC addresses etc.)

Definitely would like to get this kind of feature.
