Asset Manager Oracle and Client Upgrades

0 Votes

I am liaising with our DBAs, in our organisation to asses whether or not to upgrade to 12.2 or up to their latest edition, which is 19.x (Oracle numbering has changed this year). The 19.x Oracle client is backward compatible with databases as far back as 11.2, so moving to 19x shouldn't cause any work to upgrade databases.  However, we need confirmation from Micro Focus that Asset Manager client is certified for use with the Oracle 19.x Client, and if so would we need an Asset Manager Client upgrade?

We would also like to drop the 32-bit version of the Oracle Client from our build in favor of the 64-bit version.  We note that Asset Manager is still a 32-bit process, do Micro Focus intend to issue a 64-bit Client?
