Barcode/QR code to register ticket in SMAX mobile app

As an end-user, I would like to scan/take a picture of a barcode/QR code to easily register a ticket on device/CI/kit.

This should be done through the SMAX mobile app.


Example, if a printer is not working or needs toner a barcode hung beside could be scanned/photographed and the system would recognise the CI and map the ticket to the correct printer.

Same could be used for furniture, projectors, PCs etc.

The benefits of this would be an enhanced end-user experience in terms of a simple to use solution. For IT it means the correct CIs would be used when tickets are raised.

Very useful and good idea, which is expressed by multiple customers.

Barcode recognition would be beneficial in case of room reservation, requesting room facilities (e.g. projector) but also for inventory (scanning) management.
As extention of this (bar) code recognition , a room / facility reservation process would be great to be available Out-of-the-Box in SMAX! (in both mobile app and portal)

An example/use case: When scanning a roomcode, the applicable services, support and offerings are presented/selectable; when reserving the room this is also registered/exported to the customers agenda (e.g. outlook); when reserving a room service (projector, screen, chair, table or coffee 🙂 ) automatically a ticket is created in the resp. reservation -, request- and/or facility process); Selection of multiple services via 1 request would be quite practical.

Another example: a printer is broken, the barcode is scanned, the applicable services, support and offerings are presented/selectable in the mobile app; dependent on the selected service/support/offering a request or an incident (in case of service disruption) is initiated automatically. Feedback is sent to the user.

This would not be only very convenient and user friendly, but also very practical and very (time and cost) saving. Especially when combined with a facility/reservation process in SMAX.
