Enable adjustments to Fulfillment Plan in Offering

Enable adjustments to Fulfillment Plan in Offering

When creating Offerings in the Catalog Management section we can have Fulfillment Plans. But as soon as you select a Fulfillment Plan you “overrule” the possibility to make adjustments to the Offering. In this case it is not possible to add additional User Options or extra steps in the Task Plan of the Offering itself.

The idea is:
Create an option to either prefix or post fix the Fulfillment Plan to the Offering. This then allows to make Offering specific tasks that then get combined with the Fulfillment Plan.

Secondly allow to use a Fulfillment Plan as a template. This means that one would choose the Fulfillment Plan to set all tasks or User Options for the Offering – but then allows to modify it (which then not longer links the plan to the offering – kind of a clone function.).

Hi Edwin,

For your second idea "Secondly allow to use a Fulfillment Plan as a template. ".

There is a not so well known "feature" with Fulfillment plans that allows it to be used as a rough template:

  1. Select a Fulfillment Plan
  2. SAVE the offering (this is now a locked plan)
  3. Delete/Wipe the NAME of the fulfillment plan (don't select another one)
  4. This is now an unlocked copy of the fulfillment plan (best to SAVE again)

In case you haven't discovered this, I hope this still helps even though this is an old idea.

Regards,

Ben
