Follow/Subscribe to Hot News for End users on the portal

When the Service desk creates a Hot News on something important that is happening it would be great if end users could follow that Hot News in a similar fashion as they can with public requests. 

This would make it easier for end users to get updates on Hot News issues. 

 A current work around is for the service desk to create a pseudo request and make that one public - then the end users would also see the request and could follow that one instead of the hot news (this is a cluncky work around only though).

Just to clairify Philipp, what type of updates do you want a Follower to be notified about on a Hot News?

I would forsee the same functionality as with "follow a request". 

- So when updates are done to the Hot News (which today is and edit of the news item)

- or when the Hot News is "resolved" / removed / or expires. 

- When other users make comments to it

We might need to look at what is possible in the solution. The point is that Hot News today is a one way communication and does not allow for an end user to "interact" with it. The End user has to seek that Hot News by looking at the portal - so if he wants an update on an existing issue he needs to refresh the page or go check every 15min if there is an update. all in all he is not informed about updates. 

A subscribe or follow action would allow the end user to get notified.

This feature could reduce the number of call to the service desk in case of News relative to a major incident. Priority of the incident could also be updated according the number of followers ot the news. We could also send an automatic notification to all the followers when the news is "closed".
