History Section --> Use Display Names instead of Internal Ids

Hi all,

SMAX is using the internal Ids for tracking changes on requests, incidents.... for example when the Assignement Group, Assignee, SLT assigned, Owner, Offering or Requested By have changed, SMAX save the information using the internal Id.

When the users export the info for audits processes to XLS, the SMAX continues using internal Ids, and it very complicated identify the users, groups...

See attachments

SMAX should track the changes using the Display Name instead of Internal Ids. It's easilier for end-users to see the changes inside or outside the SMAX.

Thanks in advance

Hi Alex Mata,

I don’t think it will work if you remove the unique number completely:

  1. The Display Name doesn’t have to be unique, so a name wouldn’t be enough
    • You can normally hover over a unique ID on the screen to get more detail (so it must be unique)
    • You but could combine Id and name, i.e. "12345: ABC"
  2. But then which language would you use for the screen and for the DB export in a multi-language environment?
