Restricted access for catalog administrator.

Restricted access for catalog administrator.

Today a catalog administrator has access to all offerings. You should be able to add several catalog administrators that has access to different areas of the catalog.

Example:
If you want HR to administer their part of the catalog (offerings), you do not want them to have access to all offerings from IT.

Restricted access for catalog administrator could be regulated by Data domain segmentation.

Many customers would benefit from segmented catalog admin. It could mean less admin for the IT-crowd, more dynamic catalogs for end users and it adds to security features.

Hi everyone,

On further research, we have a solution that allows tenant administrator or catalog administrator to delegate the creation and editing of service catalogs to other people. Separating catalog offerings into services enables service owners to maintain their respective catalog areas, that is, to have the tools and permissions to create and update offerings related to the services they own.

There are a couple of steps to set-up, and assumes you're following best practice service definitons. Please have a look at let me know what you think.

Thank you Tonya.

The instructions are good, and it's valuable to know that this can actually be set up. An even more OOB set up would be welcomed of course.

@HenrikBrattlie thanks so much for the feedback. I don't disagree more OOTB would be helpful.
