Support hyperlinks/URLs in Knowledge article which do not have any protocols like http, https or ftp

Currently the hyperlinks supported in knowledge article are only the URLs which have http, https or ftp in them. But one of our customer needs to configure a hyperlink in article which points to a file in remote machine. Something like this,

file://<fedn>/Images%20Files%20Share/<image_name>/

Thanks.
