Use Time Period objects functions in Expression Language Editors

Time Period Management in SMAX has an easy interface to group periods according to certain criteria. However, we cannot access it from other modules. For example, we cannot ask for additional approvals in a Request according to the creation day. We cannot have custom transitions based on time periods.

Since Time Period Management is utilized in Change Management and SLM, I suppose that there are already mechanisms(functions) that are used to access data from Time Period objects.

What we would like to ask for is functions related to Time Periods and use them in the Expression Language Editors. For example, functions that take as arguments a start date, end date and the name of a time period and return true or false if the dates entered are within the specified time period or not.

Thanks,

Ioannis
