I second this. Some govt customers require a minimum of WCAG AA compliance with aim for WCAG AAA compliance.

In Norway, it has recently become a government committment, especially for SMAX/SM style products and all manner of portals.

The classic Service Manager products is not sellable to new customers in Norway - our only chance at winning is with SMAX. Therefore, WCAG AA (and preferably AAA) is a necessity to continue our success in the public sector!

After having just lost out on our largest SMAX case so far, reading the loss review points out WCAG compliance as one of the areas where we lost the most points in the evaluation. SMAX fails even simple compliance items such as being able to navigate without using the cursor. There is a legal requirement in Norway that by January 1st of 2021 ALL new "netsites" and "apps" (which includes the SMAX portal and app) must be WCAG compliant, whether they are intended for internal or public use. This law applies to the private sector as well as the public sector.
