Web service without internet access

Web service without internet access

If you look at the wsdl out of the box for Incident or Change Management, you can find two websites for the schemaLocation (http://www.w3.org/ - http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/); for example:

<xs:import schemaLocation="http://www.w3.org/2005/05/xmlmime" namespace="http://www.w3.org/2005/05/xmlmime"/>
<xs:import schemaLocation="http://<sm_server_hostname>:<sm_server_port>/SM/7/Common.xsd" namespace="http://schemas.hp.com/SM/7/Common"/>

This is a problem in case you are going to perform a SOAP integration with another system that have no internet access and can't load the wsdl.
We should be able to define a wsdl without external referents that points to the xmlmime.xsd and Common.xsd files locally on SM server.

There is a way to do that actually:

You can save the WSDL to a file and edit the schemalocation in Text editor.

So you can also download the files located in internet and save them locally.

The web service consumer therefore needs to point to this local copy of files only.

Certainly, there is a downside:

Whenever you change the web service definition in SM extaccess file or even dbdict, the change will only become visible to your web service consumer, after you have MANUALLY updated the local copy.
