Dynamic business rule for group selection

Jump to solution

For one of the request of our customer we would like to send notification from created incident to the specific group assigned to related actual service

Here is the detail:

  • Our customer wanted to have assigned specific group to each Actual Service. Due to this we have create new ENTITY_LINK attribute between Actual Services and Groups
  • When there is a new incident which affect one of the Actual Service, our customer would like to send notification to all of the member of the assigned group
  • In some of the OOTB business rules I have found way how to select group by upn and send notification to all its member (business rule for Emergency change):

${filter_group_by_domains(group_id_by_upn('Change_Manager_Group'), entity.DataDomains)}

  • When I try to apply this for our needs, it works correcty with the exact name of the group:

${filter_group_by_domains(group_id_by_upn('Adobe Creative Cloud CAIS Notification Group'), entity.DataDomains)}

  • But we would need to be able to choose the Name of the group dynamically, based on the related Actual Service to the incident. When I try that it doesnt work:

${filter_group_by_domains(group_id_by_upn(entity.RegisteredForActualService.NoticationGroup_c), entity.DataDomains)}

Could you please give me and advice, where have I made a mistake?

Thank you very much

Hi @cernysg ,

The way you tried it is getting the group ID. you need one more level.

Try

${filter_group_by_domains(group_id_by_upn(entity.RegisteredForActualService.NoticationGroup_c.Upn), entity.DataDomains)}
