Notification templates: create_url with authentication type

I'm using the create_url function in the notification templates to set a link to a specific record in Service Portal. This works, but if the user is not logged in, he need to login first. Since we have SAML set up, we would like SMAX to try to authenticate the user with SAML.

I've added the AUTH=SAML parameter to the URL manually and it works, but I haven't found a way to do this automatically via the create_url function.

How can I do this?
