SMAX REST API token authentication token expiration time

Hello folks,

We need your knowledge here. We had integration between SMAX 2019.05 and third party system through REST API.  Currently the integration is enabled to get token for the authentication (REST API) every 30 mins, but seems like the token is expiring in this time frame and the integration is stopping to work properly.

Could you please let us know what is the best strategy for asking for a new token? For how much time we could keep that token and use it in the requests?

The idea is that we doing a lot of requests and we are not sure if we harm the system SMAX if we asked all the time for a token authentication.

Hello,

The best way is to check the return code on each of your REST API call. If you get a 40x return call, just send another authenticate call and resume the regular calls after.

Best regards,

Brindusa
