Statistics not only for inbound and outbound mails ...

Statistics not only for inbound and outbound mails ...

I have posted a tip why reuse of components is important (https://community.microfocus.com/t5/SMG-Tips-Information/Re-Use-Filters-Services-and-Exceptions/ta-p/2862257/jump-to/first-unread-message).

Here is an example.

If you create a default inbound policy with a wizard, then you will get something like this:

You see that I will get statistics for Message Received but not for any of my additional filters.

So I reuse Statistics Recording for any part I want to appear in my statistics. I drag down Statistics Recording from Components!

I did a little bit more. I dragged down Message Block and Quarantine too 😉

Filter Groups are fine to bundle and handle similar events. However the title of a filter group will be used in many cases - digests, quarantine, statistics. But especially in these cases I want to know the real reason - so I break the groups.

That's my new design (not the whole picture). I feel it seems to be smarter and easier to understand.

Nevertheless my components window still contains only four items!

@Rimser

My filter configurations are similar to your original one.

The Message Received filter is triggered on every message that the policy processes and I have attached both a Message Tracker service and a Statistics Recording service. Every message processed appears in my Message Tracker and the Message Tracker shows every filter that was triggered.

Why is it necessary to attach a Statistics Recording service to each filter?

If you want to see at Organization/Policy Management, Overview.

I hope we will get a better statistics in future - so I am prepared.
