Attachment types

When attachment blocking is enabled, messages are blocked if prohibited file types are in a .zip archive. If the same files are in the .rar archive, then GWAVA 6.5 does not block the files.
Moreover, I see quite serious threats via e-mail when .scr or .js are in the .rar archive, which has been renamed .gz.

Is it possible to block such attachments on GWAVA 6.5?

A complete ban on .rar files is not possible.

Hello Dmitry,

depending on the software version you're running your system might be affected by a .RAR bug.

In GWAVA 6.5. Build 33 a fix for .RAR fingerprinting is present.

If you want to update you can follow the steps in the KB article
# How to Update GWAVA 6

If you already have the latest version you should open a SR, as this could be another issue and should be further evaluated by a Engineer.

Best regards,

Georg Dües
