Forgotten Password, remove masked values for SMS /email address

When a user has the ability to choose between SMS or email for token delivery the values for the email attribute and the SMS
number is shown but with certain characters masked.

Is it possible to remove this entirely?
Or is it possible to display another attribute instead of the one configured for SMS and email?

The reason for asking is;
1) The email attribute used in forgotten password isn't the primary email address but rather a secondary, probably private,
mailbox. Why would anyone want to reset sending to a mailbox they probably can't reach without the password they just forgot?

2) The phone number used for SMS contains additional information that is part of the XML sent to the service provider.
