Password Case not working on SSPR

Edir 8.8.8.2, SSPR 3.2.0.3 and our Password Policy is to utilize Case
Sensitivity.

Also set SSPR Setting – Password Settings, Password is Case Sensitive to
True

Any user Password set with Upper and Lowercase, SSPR will allow that
user to enter any case and the password is excepted!
I have verified the Passwords are case sensitive in iManager with same
user(s).

Can anyone else confirm?

Is there some other setting I’m missing in this environment to make our
Passwords case sensitive?

Thank you,

Gary

Have you checked this? https://www.netiq.com/documentation/edir887/edir88new/data/brvwgsv.html

Re: Password Case not working on SSPR

Alex, having some other password issues in our environment and don’t
wish to introduce this at this time. Will implement your suggestion as
soon as I can to see it this is the fix. Thank you…

I'm, guessing this will at least be *part* of the fix.
Please report back when you do get it resolved as it will help others in the future.

Re: Password Case not working on SSPR

I applied this suggestion:
https://www.netiq.com/documentation/...a/brvwgsv.html
to one of my LDAP servers and restart eDirectory. Pointed SSPR to that
server.

SSPR still does not support Case Sensitive Passwords. Any other
suggestions?

Thank you,

Gary

Re: Password Case not working on SSPR

SSPR doesn't control password case sensitivity during authentication.
It simply presents the password to the LDAP server and it's either
accepted or denied. This suggests the changes you made to your LDAP
server did not take effect. Try testing using a simple ldap tool like
an ldapsearch command line or an LDAP browser.

Re: Password Case not working on SSPR

Thank you for the tip. You were right, LDAP was able to use simple
passwords as well. The Test account I used was not in our standard
password policy. Once I put the account in that policy SSPR was then
case sensitive. 🙂

https://www.netiq.com/documentation/...a/brvwgsv.html
is required for SSPR to utilize password case...

Thank you,

Gary
