Using PeopleSearch as a standalone employee lookup

I'd like to be able to use the People Search function in sspr as a
dedicated employee lookup.
I'm hoping that I can do this in such a way that users can access the
function without logging in.
Any suggestions?

Secondarily, I will be setting up a second sspr service to support the
actual sspr functionality.

In both cases, I would like to redirect logouts to portal page, and also
be able to adjust/disable the timeout function on the screens.
I've looked in the doc and the online help, but apparently I'm too blind
or dim to see how to do it.
Thanks,
-jt

The PeopleSearch module in SSPR v3.2 requires authentication. You can
change the logout url and the idle timeout in the settings.
