Authenticating to web page in a Groupwise "panel"

Groupwise 8 and above allows you to create "panels" which can display
Groupwise folders, calendars, and web URLs.

I have a web page that is displayed that requires a login from the
user.

I have created a SL 7.03 application which successfully logs into the
web page when it runs directly in the browser (Internet Explorer). This
definition doesn't "notice" the same web page displayed inside GroupWise
as a "panel".

If I try to add this into my Groupwise definition in SL, then it doesn't
see it as a "text field".

Any ideas on how I can make this work ????

Cheers
Ian

I have forward your concern to the support group. I will update this

Yes I have, I'm sorry to say. 😞

As you may know, these forums are supported by volunteers and not
necessarily monitored by NetIQ staff. Should they choose to drop by,
it's on their own time.

I had hoped that someone might stop by to offer some assistance given
the apparent absence of knowledgeable volunteers. Alas, that is not yet
happened.

The suggestion I was asked to pass along to everyone who uses these
forums and is unable to obtain the answers they need is to open a
Service Request. Once an SR is opened, Tech Support will be more than
happy to assist.

If you do happen to find a solution to your issue I hope you can share
it here so that everyone can benefit.

Re: Authenticating to web page in a Groupwise "panel"

Hi Kevin,

Yes I know and appreciate that the Forum Sysops are volunteers, and I
normally do post back if I get a resolution or workaround.

I will try the SR but I find that whilst support will help with "bugs"
they don't typically want to assist with "usage" queries.

SecureLogin is almost a "programming" type application so there is
typically no set way to do something, unlike GroupWise for instance.
Hence most questions on SL are about usage.

I'll post back with how I go - but don't hold your breath.

Thanks in any case !

Ian Blackwood

Re: Authenticating to web page in a Groupwise "panel"

Ian,

You should be able to do this but you will need to be creating
additional sections in the GroupWise exe script. If the window title
changes then you will be able to recognise this and then use Type -Raw
to fill in the relevant fields. You will have to Tab "Type \T" and
press Enter "Type \N" to get it to work.

Re: Authenticating to web page in a Groupwise "panel"

@Dave: Welcome back! We missed you. 🙂

As you can see there is a severe shortage of knowledgeable people with
SecureLogin expertise. As I and a couple of other Knowledge Partners
try to get up to speed with this product, we hope we can count on your
continued support.

We really do appreciate your participation in this forum.

Thank you.
