Why does MadMan poll AD every 30 seconds ?

Running NSL 7.0.3 in AD mode and have been using DebugView to debug some
NSL scripts and I've noticed that I see events similar to this every 30
seconds:

[436] T(10/03/12 18:06:46) MadMan T3572: LDAPAvailable: ldap_connect
returned 0
[436] T(10/03/12 18:07:16) MadMan T3572: LDAPAvailable: ldap_connect
returned 0
[436] T(10/03/12 18:07:46) MadMan T2064: LDAPAvailable: ldap_connect
returned 0
[436] T(10/03/12 18:08:17) MadMan T3572: LDAPAvailable: ldap_connect
returned 0

Our cache refresh interval is 780 mins, and we have "work in offline
mode" disabled.

Is it really necessary to poll continously for AD connectivity like
this ? What benefit is this actually providing to the client ? Can this
polling be switched off or the interval increased ?

Re: Why does MadMan poll AD every 30 seconds ?

Whenever a script starts up it checks with the directory to see if it is
the latest version, this is in addition to the cache refresh. I think
it is this check that you are seeing.
