Customer Variables

Hi,
Is it possible to give/define meaningful names to the customer
variables?
Thanks...

Re: Customer Variables

I guess it depends on what you mean. I believe you can still rename the
labels on fields so that when you display data the labels show up instead
of the default label names, but the actual fields themselves... I do not
think so. With that said, why would you want to change these internal
variables? They do not really show up anywhere, as far as I know, to
regular users and while they could change how you write collectors you
could probably store data in any valid variable name and then have those
moved into the final internal variable names when the event is submitted.
Anyway, just curious what business case was behind your desire.

Good luck.

Re: Customer Variables

I simply want to rename the labels. For example, in stead of
CustomerVar21 I want to have BuildingName as the label for cv21.
Thanks

Re: Customer Variables

Sounds good. Sentinel Control Center: Configuration: Event Configuration:
choose the 'CustomerVar021' field and give it a new label of BuildingName
and then restart the SCC to see the change applied.

Good luck.
