Deactivation of Graphical view in Envent Source Management

Hello,

I would like to know if there is a way to deactivate the graphical view in Event Source Management and like that to keep only the table view. I have the feeling that building Graphical view is resource-consuming...

Thanks,

David

Re: Deactivation of Graphical view in Envent Source Management

Thanks for including the business case (performance) behind your question.

Whether or not "disabling" is what you want, I have found that if I drag
'Table' to the left so it is the first tab (instead of the second) and
then choose to save preferences then my user never loads the fun, fancy,
resource-intensive view any more, instead auto-loading the Table view.
This sounds like what you want, but I do not think ti is technically
disabled, just not auto-loaded.

thanks for your answer, I do that and see if improvement...I know that above a certain number of collectors, the graph view is deactivated but I don't know if we can change this limit.

Re: Deactivation of Graphical view in Envent Source Management

I guess it is possible they built in an auto-deactivate at some number,
but I've never noticed as I always force Table view whenever I go into
ESM. When Sentinel 6.0 first came out the view was quickly shown to be a
little troublesome other than the gee-whiz factor for people who like that
kind of thing. For those wanting to get work done efficiently, the table
view wins even in small environments, as you know.

Re: Deactivation of Graphical view in Envent Source Manageme

I checked the code and I see that, once there are more than 5000 nodes, the graph view will automatically be disabled. There doesn't appear to be a way to configure this threshold.

If the Sentinel Control Center is not working for you, please open a Service Request. If it's working and you'd like to request an enhancement to make this threshold configurable, please add that idea to the Sentinel Ideas Portal: https://ideas.microfocus.com/MFI/sentinel
