Documenting a Sentinel Solution?

Hi there,
NetIQ Identity Manager has a great documentation feature within the
"Designer" tool. Is there anything like that for Sentinel 7? Need to
generate project handover documentation soon.
cheers,
Kirk

Re: Documenting a Sentinel Solution?

Not as far as I am aware, though the plugin-based nature of Sentinel can
be compared to IDM's use of Packages (including within Designer) which
should help with understanding a setup by breaking the entire system down
into smaller manageable pieces. The event source configuration as viewed
from within Event Source Management (ESM) can be exported and the various
pieces within will container the comments and descriptions as they existed
in ESM, which may also be helpful. Creating something to parse this
output and create a single document is probably pretty feasible using some
markup-parsing libraries that are commonly available.

Re: Documenting a Sentinel Solution?

Hi Kirk,
you can use solution packs and the related tools (solution designer,
solution manager) to do this:

hk5jxw

Similar to Designer, Solution Manager also has the ability to generate
PDFs.
