Sentinel Change IP address

Hi guy,

How do I correctly change the IP address of Sentinel?
I changed the IP address via yast but realize that certain feature is
still trying to access the old IP address.

Any idea?

Thank you very much.

Re: Sentinel Change IP address

I presume the 'configure' utility from the documentation still works for this:

Sentinel 7.3 docs:
https://www.netiq.com/documentation/sentinel-73/s73_admin/data/bhg34fk.html

Sentinel 7.3 docs:
https://www.netiq.com/documentation/sentinel70/s701_admin/data/bua11sq.html#bhg34fk

Run the command on the various Collector Manager (CM) and Correlation
Engine (CE) systems, plus do not forget to change settings on other
applications that may be pointing directly to the main Sentinel service
(reporting apps, sources of events, anything using he REST API, etc.) per
their own documentation.

Re: Sentinel Change IP address

Hi,

when I change the IP on the sentinel-main server I have to change the
target IP on the RCM, that's clear.

But what will the main sentinel server do on the connectors? If they
differ from each other, which will be used? Will the RCM be overwritten
with the ones on the new sentinel-main-server or will the main-server be
updated by the RCM?

The event source configuration is pushed from the Sentinel server to its
RCMs.

Re: Sentinel Change IP address

so I have to pay really good attention which collectors are installed
(and which not) on the new Sentinel when I connect the RCMs.
