Hi guys, I have recently tried upgrading my Sentinel 7.0.1 system to
Sentinel 7.0.3 following the official manual. The upgrade process run
fine at first, but when it came to DB upgrade part it failed with the
following message:

>

> Sentinel database update was halted.
> ===============================================================================
>
> Error installing packages.
>
> Failed to start the database.
> Unable to start the database for the update.
> error: %postun(novell-Sentineldb-SLES-7.0.1.0-652.x86_64) scriptlet
> failed, exit status 1

Re: Sentinel Upgrade Error

Honestly I have no idea on this one. I didn't see this on several systems
patched... did re-running the install do anything or did it stop seeing
that the RPMs were already for SP3? It looks like the script that failed
to run was the post-uninstall script from the original RPM. You can see
what is in that (and all RPM-package-specific) scripts using the following
command, assuming the 7.0 SP1 RPM is still the one installed:

Code:
----------
rpm -q --scripts novell-Sentineldb-SLES
----------

Good luck.
