Well something may have tried to do something with that input stream but
I'm not sure where or why. Do you have a connector dump of the original
event coming in? You will not unless you set one up ahead of time, but
if you enable it now (on the connector node in ESM) and specify a file
(in an existing directory where the service has rights to create/write
the file) where the events can be written just generate this event again
and then send that connector dump file. It will include a JSON
representation of the event which can be replayed and worked on in
another environment for debugging.

Alternatively, fire up the debugger, cause the event, and figure out
which line that is happening on and the codepath followed to get there
(which is basically what somebody with the connector dump does).

Good luck.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=708459

But I don't know how to download "hotfix" .

There are two options for you. First, the issue you are seeing may be
related to this bug or to a fixed bug in the connector. I would try the
connector first:

http://support.novell.com/products/sentinel/secure/sentinelplugins.html

The name is slightly longer, as 'Windows Event (WMI)', but it's
basically the same stuff. Please note that the implementation has
changed a bit, though. Part of the desire to finally remove the need
for a windows-based Collector Manager in an environment that otherwise
only needs a single Sentinel or Log Manager server, this connector will
now run on any platform and then the WMI service piece can be placed on
any old w2k8 box and can connect to all of the other windows boxes in
the environment. It's a big change for humans, but really a tiny change
technologically.

Along with that big change is a bug fix which may resolve your issue.
If not you can either open a Service Request (SR) with Novell to get the
beta collector or I can probably find a current version to post
somewhere, but without the updated connector that work may all be for
naught.

Good luck.

Re: java.lang.NumberFormatException:For input string: "NaN ?

Hi,

My (Windows) Connector/Collector machine is Windows 2003 R2 SP2, so I
cannot install/use WMI Connector 2011.1r1 😞
Can you put/post beta collector somewhere ? (modified release.js and
taxonomy.map ? )

Thank you,

Mario

p.s. did you receive my personal message about White paper ?

The agent itself can run on any machine. I think in your first post you
mentioned you were actually monitoring a w2k8 R2 machine. That would
probably be the best place to install the agent. Any old w2k8 box will
suffice, though.

The pre-release collector is available at
ftp://ftp.novell.com/outgoing/Microsoft_Active-Directory-and-Windows_6.1r7-Pre15.clz.zip
with the following md5 checksum: 5aedcd83ba60ce71c067e37b65abc1dc

As this is not the official release it is recommended you only use it in
a test setup since it hasn't been QA'd, no guarantee of anything, blah
blah blah (if in doubt, don't use it and open an SR with the company).

PMs don't come through since I use the NNTP interface to the forums
instead of the web interface.

Good luck.
