Expert Day Question: Why are Gen 9 Proliant drivers not in WinPE images in 10.21

Specifically,  why does the 10.21 version not have the  FlexFabric 650FLB adapter for the  Proliant BL460c Gen 9 drivers in the WinPE image?  Gen 9 has been widely available for over 6 months.

Hello,

My apologize for that inconvenient,

In order to get this addressed, could you please open a support case? Please refer to the following published article: https://softwaresupport.hp.com/group/softwaresupport/search-result/-/facetsearch/document/KM1405856

Once support has recieved the proper information, support will investigate the issue and verify if a ticket needs to be filed with Current Product Engineering (CPE) to have them create a new image.

Hello,

From 10.21'1 release notes can see:

What's New for Provisioning New Samba Version

This release comes with a new version of Samba (3.6.25).

Build Plans Changes

  • Non-C drive agent installation supported in Windows build plans.
  • Instead of OS Sequences, use Build Plans for new provisioning jobs.
  • OS build plans are now supported for SLES 12.

Proliant Content Changes

  • New OS build plans for: ESXi 5.1 U3, RHEL 5.11, RHEL 6.6, RHEL 7.1, SLES 12, Windows 8.1 Pro
  • New drivers: 2015.03.0

So seeing SPP: 2015.03.0 and based on your knowledge that adapter is 6 months older and the driver should be in

Either way, the following article shows you the way to inject the desired driver into winPE image:

https://softwaresupport.hp.com/group/softwaresupport/search-result/-/facetsearch/document/KM00934927

Pay attention to the fact that in latest version you have to stop smartboot component in order to be allowed to make any changes
