Seeing it under revision so could be unavailable for you so here its content:

SA supports a cascaded satellite setup:

CORE <---> SAT1 <----> SAT2

After doing this installation following the SA install guide the basic communication between the Opsware boxes will be ok but wordcache won't work on SAT2.

This is the output of a word connection from SAT2:

[root@sat2 tmp]# export OPSW_PROXYSSL_DEBUG=1

[root@sat2 tmp]# /opt/opsware/pylibs/coglib/wordclient  --word /packages/opsware/Linux/3AS-X86_64/opsware-agent-45.0.12115.0-linux-3AS-X86_64 /tmp/test-agent
proxyssl: Opsware Gateway is  [('3.193.37.55', 3001)]
'CONNECT theword:1003 HTTP/1.0\015\012\015\012'
buf - 'HTTP/1.0 200 Connection Established\015\012X-OPSW-REALM: SAT2\015\012X-OPSW-GWLIST: 3.193.37.55:3001\015\012\015\012'
Advertised gwlist: <[('3.193.37.55', 3001)]>
self.gw_list= [('3.193.37.55', 3001)]
     self.gw= ('3.193.37.55', 3001)
          gl= [('3.193.37.55', 3001)]
Traceback (innermost last):
  File "./wordclient.py", line 535, in ?
  File "./wordclient.py", line 516, in main
  File "./wordclient.py", line 338, in urlRetrieve
  File "./wordclient.py", line 303, in urlRetrieveFd
  File "./wordclient.py", line 202, in wordConnect
  File "./urlopen.py", line 241, in urlopen
Wordbot Error: 500: gateway.proxyError, in _setup_tunnel in proxyssl.py, on line: 385 None

If we check the opswgw log on SAT1 while we run the above on SAT2 we'll see the following error:

Egress Filter: disallowing tcp connection to: 3.193.37.54:1003 from 3.193.37.55 in realm=SAT2

Solution:

The wordcache on SAT2 should try to connect to SAT1's wordcache to get the requested files. If these files aren't found on SAT1 then it tries the CORE.

By default this egress filter is added to opswgw.properties on SAT1:

opswgw.EgressFilter=tcp:*:1003:*:SAT1

This only allows connections from the SAT1 realm to access the wordcache. We have to add another egress filter for the SAT2 realm:

opswgw.EgressFilter=tcp:*:1003:*:SAT2

Hello,

It's fine! You have 2 satellites into the same realm (most probably you deployed them for HA purposes)

Which is the benefit of this topology? All the agents connected to one or the other satellite will get a list of gateways (opswgw.args) with the IPs of both satellites. In case one satellite goes down the servers have the other IP/GW and will use it, thus, the connectivity will never be lost(only if the second sat will go down too)

So you have to investigate further why that sat cannot download software(be sure that are not cascaded; if so you'll need another set of egress rules -  KM1311253)
