SA Agents Migration from 1 Core to another Core

Jump to solution

Hi all,

currently we are trying to explore ways to migrate SA Agent from an old Core (v10.60) to another new Core (v2018.08).

Has anyone perform this before? and are there any ways to achieve this? Any advices are appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

We ship an APX tool for that  /opt/opsware/support/APX/com.hp.device.migrator read the README.txt file in that directory.  You should have at least OPSWtool-1.0.29 for its latest version.

However moving agents is only half your battle you will also need to reattach polices, device groups, audit and other such objects that CBT can't move.   For that you need the /opt/opsware/support/bin/migrate tool but now you need OPSWtools-1.0.33 to ensure you have the latest version.

Check what tool version you have:
# rpm -q OPSWtools

Read the manual pages to get more information:
# source /opt/opsware/support/setup.sh
# man migrate

Hi Bengland,

thank you for the advice and info. Will try this out.

Can the latest version of OPSWtools apply for all versions of SA?
Currently on my SA10.23, the version is OPSWtools-1.0.9-2 and SA1060, the version is OPSWtools-1.0.14-2.

Thank you.

These are really old.

10.60.013 ships with OPSWtools-1.0.32 the RPM can be extracted and applied to your 10.23 system from the 10.60 rollup without causing any problem, its SA version agnostic.

Given the version of OPSWtools on your 10.60 is old you may want to consider apply this rollup.
