The api getOGFSScriptJobOutput is not returning any output from certain jobs only.

Jump to solution

/opsw/api/com/opsware/script/OGFSScriptService/method

db502 method](519) $ ./.getOGFSScriptJobOutput\:s job:i=372760003

db502 method](520) $

I have a case open with support (#4645273067) but don't seem to be getting anywhere.

In the Java GUI and the way the output is there.

Thanks,

Don

No Exceptions? Just a blank object?

How many arguments if any did you use to run the job.

I have used the other method: getOGFSScriptJobXArgsOutput to iterate through a OGFS job taking multiple arguments in the past.

Try calling that on the same job with index of 0.

Hello Don,

SA 9.14 right?  Did this work on previous SA versions or are you testing until now?  Have you tried with different job IDs?

Eduardo,

This is on 9.14. I hadn't tested this API until now. Only some jobs return no results using the API. Most jobs do return the stdout as expected.

As I said in the GUI you can see the job stdout but not when you run the API.

Thanks,
Don

Can you see anything if you try and call the method via the TWISTER or using pytwist.

I had a similar issue a while back where it turned out that some job output had invalid characters that caused a transparent failure when accessing the values through the OGSH.

Everything was ok when I used a java RMI implementation (using JRuby) to read the output.

Still should be considered a defect though.

Dimiter,

When I call it from the Twister I get the same results. Nothing!

Thanks,
Don

Both API calls work from the twister but neither work from the global shell.
